Star Wars Lego is just the best thing if you hear my 11 year old boy. He has been building legos since he was around 8 years and he has built Bionicles and the other City sets but Star Wars Lego Sets are by far his favourite.
You can choose to be either a good guy Jedi or the Dark Side seeing there are so many Star Wars Lego. He started out building some of the more basic Star Wars Lego Sets and is always looking for the next set. Every time we go to Toys R Us we always check and see if there is a new Star Wars Lego Sets.
The biggest Star Wars Lego Sets he has built so far must have had 400 pieces. I remember it was about fifty or sixty dollars and my son was kept busy for a couple nights. Every so often he would come over and show me how some part went together and what it could do. One of my favorite Star Wars Lego Sets he built is one of the walkers, the AT-AP (All Terrain Attack Pod) walker. It was kind of hard to build because so many of the pieces were gray. It looks really cool on display. The Millennium Falcon lego set has more than 5,000 pieces and is the biggest and hardest to build the Lego company set made!!
Star Wars Lego comes in sets start around $10 and right up to about $500!!. Most smaller Star Wars Lego Sets are fairly easy to build, because they only have a few bags of parts, some of the bigger sets have many bags of parts and multiple assembly manuals. One thing we found out Lego does, is the parts bags are grouped so that all parts for a section are grouped together. So when my son builds a Lego set, he puts each bag into a small container rather than dumping all of them together in one big container.
One thing I have noticed about Star Wars Lego, and it probably holds true with any Lego set, is my son always wants to see what Star Wars Lego minifigures come with the kit. Some of the Star Wars Lego Collectable sets come with 4 or 5 Star Wars Lego minifigures. This is very important in the Star Wars Lego world. In fact all of the main characters of the movies are in Lego minifigure form. Yoda has his own easily recognisable head and head shape, as do Chewbacca, Kit Fisto and other Lego minifigure, including Darth Vaders. Yes, Star Wars lightsabers are available with some minifigures as well!
One day when I thought that my son had bought all the Star Wars Lego Sets, I searched online to see what sets are available. Wow!! That is when I found out just how huge some of the Star Wars Lego sets are. You can even build the Death Star, but it's expensive and you have to have the patience. My boy is always saying he will buy it someday. Also available of course is the amazing Magna Droid Fighter. Other available vehicles and ships include the Imperial AT-ST, TIE fighters, a Rebel Blockade Runner and Lukes speeder. There are also location sets like the fantastic 10123 Cloud City, it's a really amazing Star Wars Lego collectable and would love to have it but it is super rare.
