I love animals and have had a pet for as long as I can remember. However, for many families a living, breathing (pooping!) animal just isn't an option. If it's getting harder to say no to your child's request for a pet, then Fur Real Friends Biscuit, My Lovin Pup by Hasbro may just be the perfect gift idea.
The adorable Biscuit is a new addition to the FurReal Friends line of toys. Fully interactive, it is ready to amaze and entertain your child right out of the box. Biscuit comes complete with collar and tag, dog bone, brush and adoption certificate. He comes programmed with behaviors such as nods, whimpers, barks and tail wagging - all of which are very realistic.
For even more realism, Biscuit is capable of recognizing your child's voice and knows six commands including sit, speak and lie down. He also knows how to shake hands when asked, which I think is the cutest trick that he knows. My newphew likes when Biscuit sits up and begs the best of all of his tricks.
Things to Think About
There is no doubt that Fur Real Friends Biscuit is an appealing toy with pleading eyes and a coat that is soft to the touch. Biscuit is nearly two feet high. While most kids will enjoy the fact that is he a large size, this toy will be difficult for smaller children to carry around. This doesn't mean a small child won't fully enjoy this interactive pet, but this is certainly something to think about. Also, when you give this toy to your child, be sure that you have 6 D-sized batteries on hand since they are not included in the package.
The Technology Behind Biscuit
Nine sensors help Biscuit to interact with a child based on movement, touch and voice. For example, if Biscuits left paw is touched, he will raise his paw to shake hands with you. To get Biscuit to bark simply give him the command "speak." There is even a sensor in his forehead that can sense if someone waves something in front of him, and he will flinch, sneeze or blink in response.
Biscuit My Lovin' Pup is also able to switch to different interactive modes based on how much attention he is getting. After a short while of not being interacted with, Biscuit enters "hangout" mode where he will do some cute behaviors to try to grab your attention. After a further period of non-interaction, he will lay down and go into sleep mode.
With his many sensors and behaviors, it is not difficult to see why this sophisticated, interactive dog is considered to be one of the most innovative toys of the year. With both sounds and movements that are true-to-life, FurReal Friends Biscuit My Lovin Pup is sure to become your child's new best friend.
